Dreamville Festival 2023 Review and 2024 Info
The dates for Dreamville Festival 2024 were just dropped so get excited and sign up Dreamville Fest’s official site so you’ll be ready when tickets drop. Dreamville Festival will be held April 6 & 7, 2024 in Raleigh, NC.
The festival is owned by Dreamville founder, J. Cole and is about an hour away from his hometown of Fayetteville, NC. During his career, Cole has made a point to always “put on for the home team” and this is no exception. Dreamville Fest is the only international music festival in the state of North Carolina.
I’ve been blessed enough to attend all three Dreamville Fest’s and it is ALWAYS a great experience. This year’s event had a slew of performers including Drake, Burna Boy, Lil Durk, Usher, Summer Walker and Ayra Star. In addition, Dreamville Records artists Ari Lennox, JID, Earthgang, Bas and Lute perform every year.
Aside from the proximity to Raleigh (we live in North Carolina) and my love for J. Cole since the mixtape days, there are many things that keep bringing me back. In 2023 the weekend had over 100,00 people in attendance but it was so well-managed that it never felt too encompassing. I have anxiety so large crowds can really stress me out but I can’t ever tell how big the crowd is until the aerial shots are released after the weekend ends.
Another thing that we enjoy for Dreamville Festival is the events that are held on the Friday before the festival. Events this year included yoga with Johnny Venus of Earthgang, a car show with live DJs and “50 and Forever” a collaboration with Dreamville and Amazon Music to kick off the 50 year celebration of hip-hip. 50 and Forever was hosted in CAM Raleigh, a contemporary art museum, and had panel discussions with Timbaland, Jetsonmade, 9th Wonder and OG Parker. Photos from Dreamville’s private collection were displayed and there were multiple photo ops “for the gram” including a replication of the 2014 Forest Hills Drive rooftop.
For the 4th year of NC’s largest music festival, it can only get bigger and better and I’m looking forward to the lineup and schedule just like y’all.
