Red Stick Cannabis Street Fair offers Expungement Clinic, Medical Cannabis Consultation, Voter Registration and More to Louisiana Residents

If you’ve need a medicinal cannabis consultation, look no further. On May 18, come out to the Red Stick Cannabis Street Fair in Baton Rouge, LA to learn the latest legal, medical and business information in the cannabis industry. Founder Jessica Potts lived with decades of chronic pain until she ate a weed gummy and life was never the same.

Potts was taking a cocktail of heavy drugs, including fentanyl, daily to make the pain from Multiple Sclerosis tolerable but wasn’t living, just maintaining as a special education teacher. “After three years in pain management, I was on six to eight Percocet, two morphine per day and fentanyl…while teaching. It made me functional, I could walk in the school and sit down but I was still hurting,” Potts said. “I was so depressed and isolated from being in pain somy mom, who is in the medical field, sent me to University of Southern California.”

“Community and education are the main goals - Attendees will be entertained, educated, and receive services. I want people to have fun and more than anything, leave with a community of like-minded people,” Potts said.

After eating the canna-gummy and her pain being eradicated, Jessica was happy to feel better but still concerned because of the stigma around the consumption of weed. “I grew up with D.A.R.E. And the ‘war on drugs.’” She continued, “I’m a teacher and was thinking, ‘I’m going to lose my career and be on the front page of the paper, Teacher Caught with a Pound of Weed.’” This concern pushed Potts down a rabbit hole of research about the medical benefits and legal aspects of cannabis and as she learned more, she wanted to help other patients as well.

During the event, patrons will be able to have a medical cannabis consultation with doctors and 20 people with a weed charge in Louisiana can meet with a lawyer to get free expungement. There will also be 12 education sessions throughout the day addressing the science of cannabis, how it works in the body, advocacy and social justice. Live performers, yoga, voter registration, vendors and surprise activities for the cannacurious and canna-isseurs are additional perks at the event.

“Community and education are the main goals - We have a great line up of entertainment. Attendees will be entertained, educated, and receive services. I want people to have fun and more than anything, leave with a community of like-minded people,” Potts said.
