Celebrate Mother’s Day Weekend at The Mary J Blige Strength of a Woman FESTIVAL WITH Music, Comedy, and Empowerment
The line up for the Mary J Blige Strength of a Woman Festival 2024 dropped today! Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman Festival 2024 (SOAW) is back for its 3rd year. The festival and summit will take place on Mother’s Day weekend, May 10-12 in New York City and Blige stated that she is “…so excited to bring our Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit to my hometown, New York City, a place that has always been a huge source of inspiration for me.”
Mary needs no introduction. She’s been in the music game since 1992 and songs like “Real Love,” “Real Love,” and Waiting to Exhale soundtrack hit “Not Gon’ Cry” have created the soundtrack to many of our lives and her dance moves are iconic.
The focus of the SOAW events are to foster a sense of community and strength for BIPOC while highlighting mental health, total wellness, financial literacy and beauty. When asked about her motivation for the event Ms. Blige said, “Having the opportunity to continue to uplift, inspire, and build within my community is the reason I created this festival.” The SOAW Summit will take place at The Glasshouse on May 11 and will be hosted by Mary’s long-time gal pal and media extraordinaire, Angie Martinez. What’s interesting to me is that each individual event is priced separately, but that gives fans an opportunity to pick and choose the events that interest them most.
