The History of Festival of the Lakes

Festival of the Lakes has been a pillar of Hammond's summer calendar for decades, evolving from a modest local celebration into a major regional event. Music: The Heartbeat of the Festival

Music has always been at the heart of Festival of the Lakes. Each year, the festival features a diverse lineup of performers, spanning various genres to appeal to a wide audience. This year Ginuwine, BLACKstreet, Da Baby, Marshmello, Calibra 50 and Shinedown will perform, attracting music lovers from all walks of life. Last year we flew into Chicago and drove over to see Trina and Lil Wayne perform. The amphitheater’s acoustics were amazing and there was a fireworks show over the lake on Saturday night. I’m a self-proclaimed fireworks aficionado and they put on a great show.

A Feast for the Palette

No festival is complete without a mouth-watering array of food and drink, and Festival of the Lakes won’t disappoint. The festival's food options reflect the diverse culinary landscape of the area, providing attendees with the opportunity to sample a wide range of dishes. Whether you're in the mood for festival food like corn dogs and funnel cakes, or want some Polish or Mexican food, there is something to satisfy every palate.
