Get Ready to Get Detty in Ghana this December with A Vibe Called Fest

Join Us in Accra for the AfroFuture and More: A Journey Home to Celebrate Culture and Community

We’re going to AfroFuture Festival in Ghana and you’re invited! A Vibe Called Fest and Travelbay are pairing up to bring you the opportunity of a lifetime in Accra this winter. Join us December 27 through January 2, 2025 for AfroFuture, exploring Ghana AND Togo and we’ll ring in the New Year with Tribe members in the African diaspora.

Ghana has been a top destination in Africa for years now with festivals held by Boris Kodjoe, Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa and more to connect people of African descent. We’ll start the trip off with a Kwanzaa celebration and traditional welcome ceremony and the week will be filled with music, tours and a chance to also visit Togo, a neighboring country in West Africa.

The cost for this trip is just $1800 and includes your accommodations, visas to Ghana and Togo, local concierge and transportation, breakfast and a security.

On this seven-day trip, we’ll enjoy the beautiful landscape and energy of Ghana and neighboring country, Togo, while rediscovering our African identity. We’ve got an itinerary planned that offers amazing experiences and time to rest. We’ll cover historic landmarks, enjoy Ghana’s beaches, taste the flavors of Ghana including fresh seafood caught on the coast and shop at local markets.

AfroFuture Festival is December 28 and 29 but there’s a wide variety of events, nightlife and memorable moments during Detty December. Ghana’s Year of the Return initiative started in 2019, to connect with more people in the diaspora and that longing to welcome home has continued.

FAQ

Do I have to get a visa to visit Ghana and Togo?

Yes. In addition to your passport, you will need a valid Visa to enter both countries but that count is covered for you. *Please note that a valid passport with at least two visa pages is required, and it is recommended that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your entry into Ghana.

Are any vaccinations required for entry into Ghana and Togo?
No.

Do I need to speak any other languages to attend this trip?
No, English is a widely spoken language in Ghana.

What’s the weather like in Ghana (Togo) in December?

The average temperature for this trip is around 80 degrees F so pack for the summer.

What is the best way to travel to Ghana?
You can fly from the East coast of America to the West Coast of Africa easily. The best American airlines for this trip are United and Delta and the international airlines to look into are Ethiopia Air, Royal Air Maroc, Kenya Airways and Qatar Airways. Book your flight into Kotoka International Airport (ACC) in Accra.

When should I purchase my airfare?
Yesterday. Obviously, I’m joking, but the sooner the better so book your flight as soon as you pay your deposit for the best price.

What are the accommodations like?
We will be staying at a beautiful 4 star hotel, located close to the city center. Each room offers options for single or double occupancy with air-conditioning, wifi, and beautiful views of the hotel grounds.

Who am I rooming with?
If double occupancy is selected, rooms are shared with another Vibe Tribe member. If you’re traveling with someone, please mention that when booking with Travel Bay so you can room together. If not, you will be matched with someone of the same gender.

Are your trips exclusive to Black people?
Nope. If you’re interested in enjoying a trip to Ghana, you’re invited.

How many travelers will be on the trip?
The trip has a capacity for up to 10 travelers.

How does the deposit and payment plan work?

A $500 deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your spot on the trip. Payment plans are available during booking.

What is your cancellation policy?
Partial refunds are available based on the date of cancellation. You can also transfer the experience to another traveler for a fee of $100.

When do I need to pay for my trip?
The deadline to pay your trip balance is 30 days before the trip start date, which is November 27, 2024.

Is travel insurance necessary?

No but it’s a really good idea! Travel insurance with the option for trip cancellation is a good way to protect your investment if you’re not able to attend. Travel insurance protects against risks and financial losses that could happen while traveling. The risks range from minor inconveniences such as missed airline connections and delayed luggage all the way to more serious issues including injuries or major illness.

Will I be able to meet other people on the trip before the trip starts?

Yes, we will have a WhatsApp group thread at the beginning of December to connect and share information with the other Vibe Tribe members. There will also be Instagram live sessions to ask me and our Travel Bay representative questions.

When will you provide the final itinerary?
We will provide a finalized and timed itinerary, including airport transfers and hotel information at least 2 weeks prior to your trip including all necessary travel information.
